你说 “云”，我说 “网格”，他说 “布料”

最近参加了中国软件技术大会，在新趋势、新技术的分会场讲了一场（关于企业中间件未来的发展趋势）。在该分会场中，只见“云”声不断，可以体会的到，在 Google 的推波助澜之下，云计算堪称今年的第一热点话题。更别说微软在新近也开始“云云”。

“云”，应用网格 (Application Grid; 包括计算网格 Compute Grid 和数据网格 Data Grid)，或者在 SOA 领域常听到的 "布料" "Fabric" （比喻水平计算网格一如织物般），感觉上是观察视角的远近所造成的区别。“云”是从消费端，而后二者则比较是从本地端。事实上，其架构特性（水平无限扩展，高可用性...）、设计目标有许多共同之处。还有，“云” 更多被用在 Web 2.0 互联网消费领域，而 Oracle 和 IBM 谈的网格和布料，则是在企业领域。当然，这只是“劳虎云”...纯个人体会...呵呵。

如果要更具体的探讨什么是应用网格，先前我在一个 webcast 的场合上，曾探讨了这个Oracle在九月底的 OpenWorld2008强调的新概念。这个 Webcast 的视频录像，可以由此访问（新用户需要注册）。

下面的片子点出了应用网格的特色。有趣的是，它在本质上和 SOA 有异曲同工之妙，都是一种远景、一种理念；都是基于架构的方法；都是一个渐进的过程、无法一蹴可及；都是通过将几种 best-of-breed 同类最优产品的组合，配合一套实践方式，才能实现。

说到 Oracle OpenWorld 大会 -- 恰好明天和后天在北京香格里拉酒店有个 Oracle 开发大会，实际上大致上就是 OpenWorld 的本地版。我要负责讲三场，包括运用应用网格和 SOA 的好场景 -- XTP （eXtreme Transaction Processing 极限事务处理）。另外还有国内广受关注的 SCA 的主题探讨。
