很早就听说过.虚拟机,从来没有自己动手做过,前天从网上DOWN回一个,那个艰辛.
winxp +vmware+linux(fedora, centos4) HD=SATA
下了一个最新版,VMWRAE-server 2.0 结果它是用浏览器的,XP下,没有,只好装IIS,谁知道却启动不起来,又下了个Apache ,结果一样,那个愁啊,费了不少时间,跃然起动了,可是却报错505 server unablitiy,,没办法,到处找,找回个了workstaion 6.0 绿色的,不会用,哈哈,
无奈之下,在网上磨啊磨,又磨个vmware-server1.0.4,哈哈,终于装上了.
可是在装LINUX时,出现错误,FEDORA,

Vmware server 1.0.4I was trying to install Fedora 8 on VMware server 1.0.4 but this is what I ran into:
1- I chose Linux Red Hat as there was not Fedora 8 as option when making a partition in Vmware (hope that's ok)
2- the DVD image was tested and it passed
3- It took a little bit to have drivers loaded but finaly I got to the setup GUI
4. I got this message: "The partition table on device sda was unreadable.To create new partitions it must be initialised ,causing the loss of all data on this drive
This operation will override any previuos installation choices about which drives to ignore
Would you like to initialize this drive,erasing all DATA?
No Yes
4- I assumed that its the virtual hard disk file that is going to be erased and fixed in this case so I click Yes
5- Accepting this option resulted in another error message saying:
"Error opening /dev/sdaa: No such device or address
Retry Cancel
Retry is giving no results while Cancel changes the device choice in the same last error message from /dev/sdaa to /dev/sdar
就是不认硬盘,换成IDE,也不认,没办法,最的再试试,另个版本,如果还不行,就算了,没想到换成CENTOS4竟然轻松搞定.
vmware 感觉就是好,时间长不碰LINUX了,下一步就是熟悉linux.
